Meet the Principal: Clatrina Lane of Woodstock ES

Meet the Principal: Clatrina Lane of Woodstock ES

Our Principals can’t wait to welcome our students to learn more, grow more, and achieve more in our classrooms!  As we count down to the first day of school, we’re introducing you to our schools’ new principals.

Woodstock Elementary School’s new principal is an experienced educator who has served in wide variety of elementary school roles.

Principal Clatrina Lane, a 26-year educator, has taught first through fourth grades including as a grade-level lead teacher, and has supported students as a reading and math interventionist, school behavior coach, multi-tiered system of supports administrator, and school improvement literacy coach.

What are you most looking forward to in your new role?

I believe every child deserves to be known, supported, and challenged to reach their fullest potential.  I’m passionate about educating the whole child and creating a school culture where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.  One of the things I look forward to most is meeting Woodstock families and watching students grow throughout their elementary school journey.

What inspired you to become an educator?

I grew up in a small town with seven sisters and one brother, an experience that instilled in me the importance of strong relationships, service, and community.  Inspired by my high school basketball coach, who had a profound impact on my life, I discovered my passion for education and have dedicated my career to making a meaningful difference in the lives of children.

How can parents be more involved with your school?

I firmly believe that strong schools are built through strong partnerships between families, staff, and the community.  I encourage parents and caregivers to become active members of the PTA, attend school-sponsored events, volunteer when possible, and connect regularly with their child’s teacher to learn how they can support classroom learning.  Together, I believe, we can create an environment where every Wildcat feels valued, inspired, and empowered to succeed.  One of my favorite quotes is: “In a world where you can be anything... be kind.”
